Get Shirty

Get Shirty about maternal health - and turn heads and engage hearts and minds with a striking new image!

Use resources from the Spread the Word section of the Peer Educator DVD to get everyone inspired and informed about Maternal Health issues.  Then invite fellow students to bring a plain t-shirt to school for a Get Shirty session.

Encourage people to create a t-shirt design that draws attention to the maternal mortality crisis. Once everyone is wearing their designs, use this as a photo-opportunity for the local press.

Kill two birds with one stone and kick-start your fundraising by charging a fee to anybody wishing to Get Shirty. If everybody in local schools takes part, and all participants pay £2 each, you will be well on the way to reaching your fundraising target.

See page 26 of Making the Most of Global Student Forum for further tips on how to Get Shirty.

What people say

"The Global Student Forum provides an excellent opportunity for 16-19 year olds to speak out and be heard.  We will be listening carefully to what they think about the important issues facing us all as citizens of today's world."
