GSF Beacon Schools

GSF Beacon Schools are recognised as examples of excellence in making the most of the GSF peer education resources which they receive at the National GSF Conference.  They are appointed to implement a strategy for supporting engagement with GSF in a further 10 schools within their region.

There will be two categories of GSF Beacon School in 2011-12:

1.  'GSF Regional Forum' Beacon Schools. These will be expected to stage a regional GSF2011 Sixth Form conference, following the National GSF2011 Conference template closely.

Our 'GSF Regional Forum' Beacon status for 2011-12 has been awarded to:

  • Newcastle College Sixth Form, Newcastle-upon-Tyne
  • Upton Hall School FCJ, Wirral

2.  'GSF Unplugged' Beacon Schools.  These will be expected to use GSF2011 resources and content, but will have the freedom to identify their own preferred means for engaging and supporting students in other schools.

Our GSF 'Unplugged' Beacon status for 2011-12 has been awarded to:

  • Cheslyn Hay Sports and Community High School, Staffordshire
  • John Leggott College, North Lincolnshire
  • Wadebridge School, Cornwall

What people say

"The Global Student Forum provides an excellent opportunity for 16-19 year olds to speak out and be heard.  We will be listening carefully to what they think about the important issues facing us all as citizens of today's world."
