Mission of GSF
The Mission of Global Student Forum is to enable school students to critically explore contemporary development issues and their role as global citizens. In doing so we expect that there will be changes in their knowledge, attitudes and actions and that they will be empowered to work towards a more just and sustainable world for everyone.
Goal
The Goal of Global Student Forum is to reach every young person in school in the world through the Peer Education of a 16-18 year old who was inspired, informed and equipped at a Global Student Forum conference. In order to achieve this goal we are following this simple but very effective action plan:
- Establish the Global Student Forum national conference in UK, with schools bringing ten 16-18 year old students who are inspired and equipped to go back to their schools as Peer Educators with the challenge of reaching the students in their own Secondary and local Primary schools.
- Appoint GSF Beacon Schools across the UK with the responsibility to run Regional GSF Conferences for schools in the Local Authority areas around their school. The 16-18 year old students who have attended these Regional GSF Conferences then go back to their schools as Peer Educators to reach the students in their own Secondary and local Primary schools. When we have established 60 such GSF Beacon Schools across the country, with each attending the National GSF Conference and then running their own Regional GSF Conference, we will have the potential to reach every young person in school in the UK - through the Peer Education of a 16-18 year old who was inspired, informed and equipped at a Global Student Forum Conference.
- Develop GSF in other countries across the world.
