Join us for a global youth caucus ahead of the United Nations High Level Political Forum!

The 100 Million Campaign and the Global Student Forum are holding a global youth caucus on 28th May 2021 to shape our collective demands for what should be on the agenda during the HLPF.

The HLPF is a critical annual moment to review the world’s progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and discuss other global challenges. This year, the central focus is on “sustainable and resilient recovery from COVID-19”, yet the current draft of the Ministerial Declaration (the collective document formally adopted at the end of the HLPF), looks incredibly weak in response to the devastation caused by the pandemic.

It is especially lacking in any recognition of the devastating impact the COVID-19 crisis has had on children and young people. For example, there is no mention of increased child labour, child marriages, and child mortality, or decreased school participation and completion.

Through this dialogue, we hope to both directly influence the Ministerial Declaration itself, and plan other advocacy routes to to influence the outcomes of the HLPF in July and beyond.
