On January 12, Special Rapporteur on the right to education Farida Shaheed announced the Right to Education Youth Network (REYN), a global network that connects youth and students with the work of the Office of the Special Rapporteur on the right to education.
The Office notes, "REYN brings together school and university students who want to engage with education as a human right; share grounded experiences; and contribute to thematic work, consultations, and public discussions connected to United Nations processes."
Jacob Blasius, Executive Director of the Global Student Forum, adds, "As a central convener in the global education space, we see it as a core responsibility to promote engagement with Special Rapporteur Farida Shaheed and the Office of the Special Rapporteur on the right to education, as it offers a key opportunity to affirm education as a human right, and elevate youth and student perspectives in the work of the Special Rapporteur."
Participation is individual, voluntary, and open to all youth and students. You may register to join the network here and respond to the first survey on education futures here.
