The Global Student Forum is excited to invite member organisations to express their interest in joining the High-Level Political Forum 2025 in New York from 14-23 July 2025.
What is it?
The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) is the UN’s central platform for reviewing progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Held annually, it brings together governments, civil society, and the private sector to assess global efforts toward sustainable development.
In a time of democratic backsliding and growing economic uncertainty for students worldwide, the HLPF offers a vital opportunity for student organisations to engage directly with country representatives and other key actors, working together toward a more just and sustainable future. Read more.
Why Should GSF Member Organisations Join?
Participation in the HLPF offers a unique opportunity to bring the student voice to the global stage. By joining, GSF member organisations can advocate for education justice, highlight the challenges students face, and influence sustainable development policies directly with UN Member States, civil society actors, and the private sector. It's a space to build visibility, strengthen international alliances, and ensure students are not sidelined in shaping the future of our world.
What can GSF offer its member organisations?
- As an organising partner of the Education and Academia Stakeholder Group (EASG), GSF can issue access badges to the United Nations headquarters during the two weeks of the forum.
- GSF contributes to the negotiations on the ministerial declaration outlining the next year's aims and commitments for the sustainable development of the world. This is a process we wish to include our member organisations in.
- By attending the HLPF, GSF wishes to give member organisations the opportunity to expand their international networks, connecting not only with UN bodies but also with key civil society partners. These connections can significantly strengthen your advocacy efforts at both the national and global levels.
Important information before you sign up
- GSF will not be able to cover any costs related to your participation. This includes travel, accommodation, insurance, and other expenses.
- Please do not express interest if you are unlikely to secure a U.S. visa or funding to attend the HLPF.
- If your organisation has its own ECOSOC accreditation, do not use the form below. Instead, register individually through your accreditation and complete this alternative form.
- If you are expressing interest for more than one person, please submit a separate form for each individual.
